An example of how to simulate variable mass equations of motion with Simulink and Aerospace Blockset (R13 Service Pack 1). The medium blue blocks are Aerospace Blockset blocks and the light blue blocks are subsystems containing additional Aerospace Blockset blocks.
This model assumes a neutral end burning solid motor propulsion model and includes rudimentary aerodynamics for the missile body. Fin aerodynamics and fin contribution are ignored.
When simulating, this model shows the expected tumbling of an uncontrolled missile. If the aerodynamic force and moment contributions are zeroed, the standard projectile path (from Physics)can be seen.
