RubyMacros can manipulate and morph Ruby parse trees ...

macros by Caleb Clausen can manipulate and morph Ruby parse trees (in the form of RedParse Nodes) at parse time in just about any way the user sees fit.
The outputted macros are programmed in the Ruby language itself.
And since parse trees are represented in RedParse format, they're easier to use (programatically) and more object-oriented than other available ruby parsetree formats.
Most important functions of RubyMacros 0.1.5:
• Powerful and easy metaprogramming
• Create better DSLs
• Manipulate syntax trees to suit yourself
• Access local variables and other caller context unavailable to method
• Macros as inline methods: should be slightly faster than equivalent methods
• Pre-processing is very, very slow (because of RedParse)
• Macro calls must be inside some sort of method;
• Straight out macro calls at the top level won't work
• Macros can't have blocks or receivers
• Some Ruby syntax is unsupported in files using macros
• Files using macros must be loaded via Macro. require;
• Kernel#require will not recognize macros
• Macros cannot be scoped
• No variable (or other) hygiene
News in the current RubyMacros [rubymacros0.1.5.exe] version:
• All macros are now immediate, not delayed
• Macro calls can accept blocks
• Macro calls need not be inside a method
• Form escapes can stand in for a method name in callsites
• Macros can expand to nop by returning nil
• Form escapes whose value is a symbol become callsites now
• Forms can now be catenated together with + in the obvious way
• HashLiteralNode can be treated somewhat like a real hash, using #get
