In our case the receiver is the user of the website ...

In our case the receiver is the user of the website and the sender the author / editor of the content or let's say content it self. Translations improve the communication between sender and receiver. An Editor is a person that creates new and modifies content. The editor has limited knowledge to no knowledge about other languages. The editor creates and designs content in source language. A translator translates a given content from a source language into a target language. Translators care about the syntax and the semantic of content. The finalization of a translation ends with the alignment of the content towards existing visual elements. The translator will assure the proper conversion of the content. What is xrow's translation_manager by xrow? xrow's Translation Manager 1.0 integrates the enterprise content management system eZ publish with an enterprise translation memory such as SDL trados. It enables professional translators to translate eZ publish content within their traditional translation software (computer-assisted-translation). The Translation Manager [translationmanager1.0.exe] helps the Editor and the Translator to successfully collaborate in an optimized workflow. One of the key differences in concept is that in the usually eZ publish setup the translator is working inside the CMS, but with our solution the translator is working inside his CAT environment. The typical workflow handled in Translation Manager - 0MB - Editor creates a new content and enters the before publish workflow or the editor selects multiple nodes/tree that are send for translation.
- The Editor may enter the translation workflow and invites one or more translators to translate his content.
- The translator enters a collaboration workflow with the editor
- The translator translates the content in his professional translation tool.
- A second translator may approve or disapprove the returning work from the first translator. Messages can be exchanged during the collaboration.
- The new content gets published for one or more languages.
When to use xrow's Translation Manager 1.0?
- Content tends to be repetitive. We wish we could store terms and sentences as they are translated and then re-use them within the CMS or across the whole company.
- Content is updated regularly. Why can't we identify changed sections and translate only those?
- Translation takes too long. Wouldn't it be nice to have multiple translators work on one project simultaneously without risking inconsistent terminology?
- You mainly work with professional translators.
- You already have one or more translation memories with your company.
Benefits of xrow's Translation Manager with SDL Trados
- Accelerate the translation process up to 90%.
- Increase accuracy
- Improve quality
- Cut your translation costs up to 60%.
What CAT solutions are currently supported?
- SDL Trados 2006, Trados 7 and Trados 6
- Further CAT solutions like Dé jà Vu, Transit or Across up on request.
