It's written with security and extensibility in mind ...

It's written with security and extensibility in mind and inherits many ideas of WordPress and other existing blogging systems.
It comes with all basic blog functions like post, comment, categories, user groups, tags, ATOM feeds, permission management, theming support.
It also provides great importers for WordPress content, an advanced plugin system and a translatable interface.
Most important functions of Zine by Armin Ronacher:
• Valid HTML 4. While it looked like xhtml would become the standard for long time, HTML is getting a lot of attention again lately. The reason is the current bad support of XHTML in browsers and the huge number of pages with an XHTML doctype but HTML 4 contents. zine 0.1.2 currently sticks to HTML 4 and we will make the switch to either HTML 5/XHTML 5 or XHTML 2, depending on what is best supported at that time.
• Atom support. Zine [zine0.1.2.exe] supports the most recent Atom standard for best interoperability with other applications and web services.
• Extensibility. Zine - 0MB is built on a solid core that is extensible via plugins. These plugins can change or amend nearly every part of the application.
• Pingback support. Zine 0.1.2 comes with full support for pingback for cross-blog communication.
• Simple web setup. The initial web setup helps get Zine running in less than two minutes.
• Unicode readiness. Zine internally uses unicode everywhere.
• Python 2. 4 or higher
• Babel
• lxml 2 or higher
• pytz
• html5lib
• simplejson
• Jinja2
• SQLAlchemy 0. 5 or higher
• Werkzeug
Missing features:
• Search functionality
• File upload system
• Notifications about new posts, comments, etc
• Translations
• Documentation for (plugin) developers
News in the current Zine version:
